A friend asked me to render Geronimo from an old image he found possibly from a magazine cover. This fall, while driving route 10 west of Tucson my husband and I came upon an historical marker site that claimed the territory we were in was Geronimo country. I was compelled to find this bold spirit as I rendered him in pastel. What a rugged and free land he came from and hid from the U.S. Army for 40 years in!! May his spirit live on….
